Udawalawe National Park Elephant Safari from Hikkaduwa

This full-day safari tour starts from Hikkaduwa and takes you to Udawalawe National Park, one of the best places in Sri Lanka to see wild elephants in their natural environment. The journey begins early in the morning with hotel pickup from Hikkaduwa, followed by a scenic drive inland towards Udawalawe.

Upon arrival at Udawalawe National Park, you will switch to a private 4x4 safari jeep driven by an experienced local safari driver. During the safari, you will explore the park’s grasslands, reservoirs, and forest areas while observing wildlife in their natural habitat.

Udawalawe National Park is famous for its large population of free-roaming Asian elephants. You will also have the chance to see water buffalo, spotted deer, crocodiles, monitor lizards, and many species of birds. The safari follows ethical wildlife viewing practices, meaning animals are not fed, touched, chased, or disturbed.
