Sigiriya Village Life Experience with Lunch

Overview
Your journey begins at 11:30 in the morning in Sigiriya, where you will be guided to a traditional village setting and warmly welcomed by your local guide. This immersive experience introduces you to the charm and simplicity of rural Sri Lankan life.
The tour starts with a peaceful oxen cart ride through scenic village paths. This traditional mode of transport offers a glimpse into everyday village life and takes you to the edge of a serene reservoir.
From there, you will step onto a traditional catamaran for a relaxing ride across the water. As you glide along, you may spot local wildlife such as water monitors, crocodiles, and a variety of birds including cormorants. The calm surroundings and natural beauty make this a memorable part of the experience.
After returning to the village, you will meet a local host who will guide you through a hands-on cooking demonstration. You will learn how traditional Sri Lankan dishes are prepared using clay pots and wood-fired stoves, and you will even get a chance to try cooking yourself.
Following the cooking session, you will enjoy a freshly prepared lunch served in a traditional style. The meal includes rice, six flavorful Sri Lankan curries, fried fish, green salad, and crispy papadum, all served on lotus leaves placed on woven trays.
After your meal, you can relax and explore the village at your own pace before the tour concludes at around 1:30 in the afternoon at the village square.
