Overview
Start your day early with an optional pickup from Hikkaduwa and travel to Mirissa Harbor for an exciting whale and dolphin watching adventure on the Indian Ocean. This experience is operated by Geeth’s crew, who have over 7 years of experience navigating the waters of Mirissa.
The boat departs around 7:00 AM and takes you on a 3 to 4-hour ocean journey where you will have the opportunity to spot some of the world’s largest marine mammals. There is a chance to see blue whales, sperm whales, Bryde’s whales, and fin whales, along with a high chance of seeing playful dolphins swimming alongside the boat. Occasionally, you may also spot sea turtles.
During the cruise, you will be served a light breakfast including fresh fruits, cake, fish sandwich, egg bun, and tea, allowing you to relax and enjoy the experience comfortably. Safety is a priority, with life jackets, sea sickness tablets, and full boat insurance provided onboard.
After the cruise, you can return to Hikkaduwa with a pre-arranged transfer or continue exploring Mirissa and the southern coast at your own pace.
