Overview
After being picked up from your hotel in the Wilpattu area or at the Park Entrance, you will enter Wilpattu National Park to explore its unique landscapes—Willus, light forests, scrubs, grasslands, lagoons—and encounter a magnificent variety of wildlife. Traveling in a private 4WD Jeep with an expert guide, the safari focuses on the ‘Golden Hours’ for leopard spotting, either during the first 2 hours of the morning or the last 2 hours of the afternoon.
Throughout the journey, you will search for one of the world’s highest concentrations of leopards, sloth bears, and elephants, as your knowledgeable guide navigates the park’s vast area and roads. Morning safaris begin at 5:30 AM from your hotel, capturing the sunrise as the park opens at 6 AM, while afternoon safaris run from 2 PM until sunset at 6 PM.
Wildlife sightings may include leopards, elephants, water buffalo, sloth bears, sambars, jackals, spotted deer, peacocks, and crocodiles, making this a truly unforgettable experience in Sri Lanka’s largest and most pristine wilderness.
