Overview
Start your journey early in the morning with pickup from Hikkaduwa and travel դեպի Sri Lanka’s beautiful hill country to explore the famous town of Ella. This full-day trip combines nature, culture, adventure, and scenic train travel, making it one of the most popular day tours in Sri Lanka.
Your first stop will be the ancient Buduruwagala Temple, known for its impressive rock-carved Buddha statues that are over 1,000 years old. This peaceful archaeological site gives insight into Sri Lanka’s ancient history and Buddhist heritage.
Next, you will visit Ravana Falls, one of the most famous waterfalls in Sri Lanka, surrounded by lush green mountains and connected to the легенд of King Ravana. It is a great place for photos and a short break.
You will then visit the Uva Halpewatte Tea Factory, where you can learn about Sri Lanka’s tea production process, from tea leaf plucking to packaging. You will also have the opportunity to taste fresh Ceylon tea.
One of the highlights of the tour is the scenic train ride from Demodara to Ella, considered one of the most beautiful train journeys in Sri Lanka. The train travels through tea plantations, tunnels, and mountain landscapes, including the famous Nine Arch Bridge.
After arriving in Ella, you will visit the Nine Arch Bridge viewpoint and then hike Little Adam’s Peak, a short and easy hike that offers breathtaking panoramic views of Ella Gap and the surrounding mountains.
After completing the Ella sightseeing tour, you will begin the return journey and arrive back in Hikkaduwa in the evening, ending an unforgettable hill country adventure.
