Day 1: Colombo → Sigiriya → Kandy
Start with a pickup from Colombo or Negombo and head inland to Sri Lanka’s cultural heart. Visit the Sigiriya Museum, showcasing the history of Sigiriya as a palace, fortress, or Buddhist monastery. Explore the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its vibrant murals and golden Buddha statues.
The day’s highlight is Sigiriya Rock Fortress, rising dramatically from the plains. Climb to the summit to see ancient ruins and enjoy panoramic views over misty forests. In the evening, arrive in Kandy and visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, housing Buddha’s sacred tooth in golden caskets.
Overnight: Royal Kandyan or similar hotel in Kandy.
Day 2: Kandy → Nuwara Eliya → Ella
After breakfast, visit a wood carving workshop and gem museum to learn about local craftsmanship. Travel through scenic hill country toward Ella, stopping at Ramboda Falls for photos. Visit a tea factory and plantation to see Ceylon tea cultivation amid misty hills. Optionally, take a scenic train ride from Ambewela to Ella through lush valleys and tea estates.
Arrive in Ella and check in to your hotel.

Day 3: Ella → Udawalawe National Park → Colombo
Start early with a hike to Little Adam’s Peak to watch the sunrise over rolling hills. Visit the Nine Arches Bridge, a stunning railway bridge in the jungle. Check out and head to Udawalawe National Park for a safari, spotting elephants, deer, crocodiles, and other wildlife with a guide.
Return to Colombo, Negombo, or the airport, concluding your immersive 3-day tour of Sri Lanka’s cultural, natural, and historical treasures.
